Alfama

The Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Mary Major or Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa, Igreja de Santa Maria Maior)

The oldest district of Lisbon.

In one of the seven hills - St. Vincent Hill (Colina de São Vicente)

Just take one of the yellow trams and discover the city.

It's tradition coming to Lisbon and taking the tram 28.

This tram goes from Martim Moniz and it ends in Campo de Ourique, in Cemitério dos Prazeres (in english, this would be translated as the Cemetery of Pleasures...)

If you buy the ticket inside the tram it's 2,85€, one ride.

But if you're traveling a lot in Lisbon, using tram or bus (Carris), we would recommend you to buy the one-day ticket.

It's 6€ and it has endless use for 24h.

Alfama, a view from Tejo river

Alfama and Tejo are in love. They are perfect together.

Saint Luzia Viewpoint, in Alfama (Miradouro de Santa Luzia)

Gates to the Sun Viewpoint (Miradouro das Portas do Sol)
Lisbon’s best viewpoint overlooking Alfama, the Tejo river, and the passing trams.
